Here we are in the month of November. The wonderful colors of fall seem to be disappearing and temperatures are getting downright chilly. Here at Caton Auto Clinic we use November to really buy into the thankfulness that holidays in the month are designed around.
We ended our Brakes for Breasts Campaign at the end of October where we replaced brake pads for free and donate 10% of all the brake labor to the Cleveland Clinic. This year, with the help of all of our customers, we will be donating $2901.35 to the Cleveland Clinic to help prevent breast cancer! We thank our brake parts sponsor, Fisher Auto Parts, and our wonderful crew for a great event.
This year we also hosted our 5th annual Veteran’s Day Event. On the Saturday closest to Veterans Day we closed down in order to give back to those who have given us so much! With the help again of Fisher Auto Parts, we completed 42 complimentary oil changes for veterans and current service personnel in our community. A special thank you should go out to all of our employees who donated their Saturday to come give back to our community! This is by far our largest turnout and we look forward to next year’s event!
Finally, in November we are reminded to be thankful for the little things we have. How many of us are lucky enough to own a vehicle? Some of us are even blessed to own multiple vehicles. However, we must realize that owning a vehicle is an investment. The average car payment is $500 a month for new cars which means that if we maintain our vehicle properly we can save $18,000 over 3 years if we don’t buy a new car. Some customers say, “I do my regular oil changes isn’t that vehicle maintenance?” The answer is yes, it is, but that is only part of what you should be doing. Remember there are other important fluids in your car that should be checked: coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid. All act as lubricants for their specific system and help the attached parts operate properly! Also, we have many rubber components to be aware of- tires, belts, hoses, etc. that all need to be checked for swelling, cracks, or more! Proper vehicle maintenance can save you lots of money and time in the long run. Be thankful for your car, and treat it well this month!
